Theft and battery.
The long-rumoured Swap Lite is taking Nintendo’s hybrid console idea, dumping the ‘hybrid’ bit and going full ‘PlayStation Vita’. Leaving apart the truth that it’s best to by no means go full PlayStation Vita (can we anticipate Nintendo to swiftly pull all help, disown the console and go away it to 3rd events to fill it with saucy visible novels?), the announcement was met with enthusiasm from many, though it’s personally not for me and introduces sufficient caveats to dissuade me from an impulse buy. The bezel’s a bit too thick, the colors too conservative, to not point out the truth that it doesn’t ‘Switch’ anymore.
Swap Lite merely sacrifices an excessive amount of of what I like concerning the Swap. The present display dimension feels excellent already, and whereas the console isn’t pocket-sized, you wouldn’t catch me throwing it in with my keys and unfastened change anyway. Add to that the worry that these analogue sticks could also be no higher than their Pleasure-Con counterparts and it’s a simple move (until that Recreation Boy livery grew to become official – then I’d need to reevaluate). For now, the unique SKU remains to be the one for me.
